A name or place entered into a search box is transmitted directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so we can respond. We keep that message within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, ordinary server and analytics systems may collect technical details about the visit:
- Pages viewed, visit length, and page-view timestamps
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Your device's assigned IP address
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help show aggregate traffic patterns, including popular pages and points where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site features behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
St. Louis County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general instructions for reaching the 21st Judicial Circuit, St. Louis County Police, Justice Services, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted to a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing choices. We do not control those practices. Review the applicable provider policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to St. Louis County offices, Missouri courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Check them before providing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted advertising.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

We use standard safeguards for information in our care. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary with a visitor's location. In Missouri, consumer-protection matters may be governed by the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, including section 407.020 RSMo. The Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, governs records held by public bodies, while section 43.540 RSMo governs dissemination from the state criminal-history repository. Those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
